Schori's Australian visit

Mark over at 'Seeing in a mirror dimly' noticed that Presiding Bishop of the American Episcopal Church Katharine Jefferts Schori is visiting Australia and New Zealand.  Interestingly her preaching engagements in New Zealand are much more prominent (e.g. Auckland Cathedral) than her single Australian preaching engagement at Christ Church St. Lucia in the Diocese of Brisbane. Will Briggs, who is the Diocesan point man for all things globally Anglican, has been blogging the slow disintegration of the old order and the rise of new conservative alignments.  Schori represents that part of Anglicanism that values ritualism but has abandoned the biblicism of Cranmer. The ACL (the New Cranmer of Sydney) has these sobering words about Schori's visit:

We note with profound sadness that the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church, Katherine Jefferts Schori, has been invited to preach in a Brisbane church in early July. This invitation shows an appalling lack of judgment and contempt for those who have suffered at the hands of the revisionists in The Episcopal Church.

[Don't you think Mark Thompson looks like a happier Kevin Rudd!]
